Rita Lifschitz Rubinstein Born: December 12, 1936, Văscăuti, Romania Rita Rubinstein was raised in a loving home, which her family shared with an aunt and uncle and their two children, as well as with her paternal grandmother and her aunt’s mother-in-law. When I was a student at Syracuse U in 1976, I took Mrs. Rubinstein's course on the Holocaust. We became friendly and she offered me the type-written draft of her book to read.
